Veronica peduncularis 'Georgia Blue' (Speedwell 'Georgia Blue')

Veronica peduncularis 'Georgia Blue' (Speedwell 'Georgia Blue')

Veronica peduncularis 'Georgia Blue' (Speedwell 'Georgia Blue') is a plant you won't like to miss in early spring. It is one of the first perennials to flower and its delicate blue flowers show you that winter is over. Luckily it doesn't stop completely to flower after spring, but shows nearly the whole year round a few flowers at least. If you look carefully you will notice the red branches that carry these cheerful flowers. Together with the glossy green little evergreen leaves they form a colorful combination. In winter the leaves turn bronze-purple in color, adding even more color to the garden.
This low growing mat-forming plant is a great groundcover, Veronica peduncularis 'Georgia Blue' is an easy plant to grow. It loves regular water, full sun to partial shade and is frost hardy till zone 4. A great bonus here in Redding is the fact that it is relatively deer, rabbit and squirrel resistant.
