Phygelius x rectus 'Moonraker' (Cape Fuschia)

The name of this flower stems from the hauntingly luminous yellow-green trumpet shaped blossoms that hang pendulously from upright stems adorning this perennial. This is a sprawling shrub to 3ft with erect blossoms and stems to 2-3 ft. In bloom continuously from early summer and into fall, dead head old blossoms, and cut any growth that gets rangy looking throughout season. A South African native Phygelius are well suited to our Mediterranean climate, they perform well in our dry heat, a woody perennial they die back in winter to return from roots the following season.
