Mentha suaveolens (Apple Mint)

Mentha suaveolens (Apple Mint)

A giant among mints Apple Mint can grow waist high. Apple Mint has fuzzy square stems, and large fuzzy grey-green leafs. This is a great tea mint it is easy to get a large quantity of dries tea from such big leafs. This is also the mint that I use when I make lemonade; a handful of apple mint leaves added to lemonade is wonderfully refreshing. The scent of Apple Mint is sweet and mild; when it blooms the flowers are white and honey scented. Word of caution this is one of the more aggressive mint types, keep in planter boxes or large pots to control spreading.
