Ceanothus 'Ray Hartman' (Wild Lilac 'Ray Hartman')

Wild lilac or ceanothuses are amazing drought tolerant plants often seen gracing spring with their blue blossoms throughout the hills, and Highways, and Byways of California. In the landscape ceanothus are amazing drought tolerant champions, they come in both shrub and ground cover forms. A giant among ceanothus Ray Hartman can grow to be 15 to 20 ft. tall and just as wide, looks nice as a shrub form but can also be trained as a tree. Leafs are dark green and 2-3 inch long, flower clusters up to 3 inch long clusters are pleasing medium hue of blue. A fabulous drought tolerant plant that will do best with little to no summer irrigation once established.
